Sharks

So Brett's sister can down for the weekend with her 3 girls to go to the beach. well once we got there we noticed nobody swimming. It didn't take us longer to hear why. There were SHARKS. Crazy crazy, I didn't realize sharks came so close in land. Anyways, I will try to give a better update soon. We have had a lot of company lately and not much down time. Oh and It's my last few days of school. YAY!! But Brett and I both start back at school Aug 14th. Than off to Utah from My little sisters wedding aug 22nd to the 29. It will be nice when things calm down for a bit.

That's right baby number 2 is on the way. Well I actually just found out yesterday I was pregnant. Brett and I have never been good at not sharing good news. Hey we even end up doing Christmas early since we can't wait. So it didn't surprise me at all that we would start telling people right away. Anyways I wrote this on one of Kaiya's plain white onsies so when Brett got home she walked right up to him. He seemed pretty happy. I should be due sometime in March. I know Kaiya and this one will be close, but with how social Kaiya is we figured she would love to have a playmate close to her age.

Shurtleff Family Camping 2009

So once a year Brett's whole family gets together to go camping. We went to Badin Lake in NC. It was a very pretty area and was nice to get away for a few days. But I think for future trips we have all decided to go late summer early fall. It was just too hot. In the 90's with major humidity. Kaiya had a hard time with naps and just wouldn't eat much in that heat. The Second night we were there, there was a huge severe thunderstorm that came through. After getting everything covered up we got in our tents. I have never heard thunder so loud and so close. Something hit our tent and shock Brett and I up pretty bad. But right after we heard a huge crack and his Mom screaming for help. I have never seen Brett jump up so fast and through on shorts. A limb had fallen from a tree and had them trapped in their tent and Brett's Dad pinned down. After Brett, Becky ( who is 8 months Pregnant) and his brother in law Darren got them limbs off they got in their car. Brett came back and Got Kaiya and I decided we would be waiting the storm out in the car. Needless to say the next day we packed up and headed home. But it was good to hang out with family for a few days at least.
